Senior Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team.

This role involves applying a deep understanding of engineering principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing designs, documentation, specifications, fee proposals, reports, and other documentation to meet client requirements for projects of reasonable complexity.

Additionally, the Senior Structural Engineer will manage small design teams, including planning resource allocation and checking work.

They will also prepare client reports and assume responsibility for managing small, medium, and large-scale projects.

This includes duties such as pricing, tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling, and meeting deadlines and budgets.

The Senior Structural Engineer must ensure compliance with applicable codes and policies, e.g., WHS practices and Quality Assurance.

They will check structural engineers' work and perform other tasks as reasonably requested by a manager or director.

Requirements
  • Member of Engineers Australia, CPEng/NER
  • At least 5-6 years' experience in a similar role, with timber experience highly desirable
  • Software skills: Etabs, Spacegass, RAM, RAPT
  • Site experience highly desirable – at least one building project with site attendance
  • Ability to prioritize incoming work appropriately
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
