Justice Officer Role

We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated professionals to contribute to the holistic management of prisoners within our maximum-security remand facility.

The Offender Services team plays a pivotal role in assisting with prisoner welfare services, referrals, personal development programs, and through-care services for this short-term, transient population.

As a Justice Officer, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to support community transition, monitoring, and encourage program involvement and contribute to community referral for post-release issues.

You will provide individual assessments and referrals which are responsive to individual prisoner needs under direction. You will also facilitate group prisoner orientation sessions and information sessions under direction.

To be successful in this role, you will possess demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, experience in or understanding of working within a correctional environment, and an open-mindedness to new ideas and approaches while being able to offer your own opinions and ask questions.

About the Facility:

Our maximum-security remand facility is based in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. Prisoners on remand are alleged offenders who were not bailed when charged with a crime and are awaiting the outcome of their court case.
