About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Trust Accountant to join our Perpetual Corporate Trust team. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely accounting services for unregistered managed investment schemes (MITs) and securitisation vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic management accounts and annual financial statements.
  • Calculate trust distributions and prepare distribution statements.
  • Perform account reconciliations and prepare journals.
  • Preparation of Business Activity Statements (BAS).
  • Assist with the audit of annual financial statements.
  • Assist with review of trust tax returns and Annual Investment Income reports.
  • Assist with preparation of budgets and liquidity forecasts.
  • Respond to accounting enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Trust Accountants/Senior Trust Accountants and the Senior Accounting Manager on the delivery of Trust accounting services.
  • Maintain relationships with clients.
  • Provide support to team members, Senior Accounting Manager and General Manager on projects and other key initiatives.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced accounting professional with a strong background in trust accounting and financial services. You will have a university accounting degree and be studying towards being a qualified accountant (CA or CPA). You will also have 1 to 2 years experience in a chartered accounting firm and a working knowledge of managed funds and Securitisation.
