Commodity Assurance Manager

The Commodity Assurance Manager is a key position within the APS, responsible for leading compliance and assurance activities on inventory and asset holdings and practices. This role requires a high level of expertise in logistics and inventory management, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Compliance and Assurance Activities: Develop and implement procedures and reports to ensure compliance with mandated requirements.
- Manage Logistics Reporting Requirements: Coordinate and analyze complex logistics reporting requirements, including the development and maintenance of the logistics performance reporting capability.
- Contribute to Policy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop policies and programs that contribute to the assurance of Defence's inventory management practices, procedures, and systems.
- Generate Reports and Correspondence: Prepare detailed reports and responses to correspondence, briefs, and reports for management.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with team members and key stakeholders to resolve logistics compliance and assurance matters.
- Build Relationships and Analyze Data: Compare and analyze compliance and assurance outputs against policy, procedures, and best practice, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
- Interpret and Comply with Frameworks: Interpret and comply with legislative, policy, regulatory frameworks, and organisational objectives.
- Manage Audit Activities: Coordinate the activities of external and internal audit agencies, including the facilitation of site visits.
As a member of a small team, you will use stocktake experiences to schedule, develop procedures, and oversee the execution of assurance programs within Defence. This role requires a high level of expertise in inventory management and logistics, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements- Inventory Management Expertise: Strong knowledge of inventory management practices, procedures, and systems.
- Logistics Reporting Skills: Ability to coordinate and analyze complex logistics reporting requirements.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with warehouse and governance staff from multiple sites across Defence.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and ability to extract data from inventory systems.
