The Opportunity

Harris HMC is seeking an experienced Service and Maintenance A-Grade Electrician to join our growing team in Melbourne. You will be working across a large client base consisting of high-end commercial buildings, industrial sites, government, council, and the tertiary and higher education sector.

This is a client-facing role; we are looking for someone who can engage with our clients and contractors and represent our company culture and Top 1% focus on customer service.

It will be a mainly autonomous role, with the flexibility to schedule your own day-to-day workload and organize basic materials. Reporting to the Service and Maintenance Manager, you will have the skills to work independently, problem-solve, and fault-find, but will be supported by our larger team of service electricians when required.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Scheduling and Carrying Out Planned Preventative Maintenance Tasks
  2. Responding to Reactive Works, Including Urgent Response When Needed
  3. Conducting General Electrical Repairs and Alterations
  4. Completing or Assisting with Small to Medium Project Works for Our Clients
What We're Looking For:
  • Organizational skills to prioritize both a reactive and planned workload.
  • Experience with commercial service and maintenance work.
  • Ability to complete reports for preventative maintenance tasks in Excel and work on a supplied tablet.
  • Ability to work autonomously and fault-find/problem-solve when required.
  • Customer service skills to deal directly with clients such as facilities maintenance managers and tenants.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with various lighting control systems.
  • Experience with generator/UPS systems.
  • Experience with online job management systems such as Aroflo or similar.
