Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Examiner - Injury Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our injury management team, you will be responsible for managing and processing claims for injured workers who are claiming reimbursement and cost coverage of various types of medical expenses. Your primary goal will be to ensure that injured workers receive the necessary treatment and support to facilitate their return to work.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a customer service-based role, preferably in fields related to employment services, rehabilitation, mental health, social work or health & safety. You will possess strong telephone-based conversational/communication skills, administrative skills and the ability to learn and use systems/databases. Exceptional time management and organisational skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing and processing claims for injured workers who are claiming reimbursement and cost coverage of various types of medical expenses.
  • Reviewing, monitoring and approving requests from injured workers for medical/surgical treatment.
  • Ensuring appropriate documentation is received to process weekly wage payments for employers and injured workers.
  • Administration based tasks such as assessing and processing invoices, entering contact notes, drafting letters relating to decisions being made on claims etc.
  • Taking and making a high volume of client and customer calls relating to claims outcomes, updates, and customer service.

About You

We are looking for a professional with a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as allied health, psychology, social work or similar. Previous experience in a customer service-based role, especially in fields related to employment services, rehabilitation, mental health, social work or health & safety, is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, are essential.
