We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced National Technical Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring customer requirements are met, improving existing products, and developing new products to meet the needs of our expanding customer base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Promote Good SHEQ Behaviours

Lead and promote good SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) behaviours and challenge non-compliance to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Provide Thought Leadership

Provide thought leadership for long-term profitability and competitiveness, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategies to achieve business objectives.

Plan and Coordinate Resources

Plan and coordinate resources to identify and control risk and hazards, ensuring good housekeeping and environmental consideration is maintained across the area of responsibility.

Measure and Evaluate Product Performance

Measure, evaluate, and manage product performance levels to ensure they meet customer requirements and business objectives.

Manage Central Lab Testing and Reporting Services

Manage the performance and effectiveness of the central lab testing and reporting services to ensure accurate and timely results.

Manage Technical Relationships

Manage the technical relationship with shareholder customers, industry groups, government agencies, and specifiers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Process and Product R&D

Develop and implement process and product R&D initiatives to meet product performance and product development objectives.

Oversee Departmental Financial Targets

Oversee and manage the achievement of departmental financial targets, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Represent CA Interests

Represent Cement Australia's interests on industry technical groups and Standards Australia committees to ensure effective representation and collaboration.

Set and Monitor Manufacturing Specifications

Set and monitor manufacturing specifications, including oversight of technical aspects in grinding plants and close liaison with integrated plant technical management.

Track Embodied Carbon

Track embodied carbon in products and drive initiatives to reduce overall embodied carbon from process to customer.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong Technical Knowledge

Strong technical knowledge and experience in manufacturing and laboratory operations, with a focus on cement and concrete technologies.

Industry Recognition

Industry recognition as a technical expert in cement and concrete technologies, with a strong understanding of industry trends and developments.

Leadership Skills

Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team in a complex and fast-paced environment.

Relationship Building

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior influencers in government and other business partners.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in science or engineering, with a postgraduate science or engineering qualification preferred, and business qualification preferred.
