National Technical Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled National Technical Manager to join our team at Cement Australia. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring customer requirements are met and exceeded in terms of product performance. This is a rare opportunity to work with a market leader in Australia and contribute to our decarbonisation and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and promote good SHEQ behaviours and challenge non-compliance
- Provide thought leadership for long-term profitability and competitiveness
- Plan and coordinate resources to identify and control risk and hazards
- Measure, evaluate and manage product performance levels
- Manage the performance and effectiveness of the central lab testing and reporting services
- Manage the technical relationship with shareholder customers, industry groups, government agencies and specifiers
- Process and product R&D, improvements and programs to meet product performance and product development objectives
- Oversee and manage the achievement of departmental financial targets
- Ensure a representation of CA interests on Industry technical groups and Standards Australia committees
- Setting & monitoring manufacturing specifications including oversight of technical aspects in grinding plants and close liaison with integrated plant technical management
- Tracking embodied carbon in products and driving initiatives to reduce overall embodied carbon from process to customer
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in manufacturing and laboratory operations
- Industry recognised as a technical expert in cement and concrete technologies
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior influencers in Government and other CA business partners
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team in a complex and fast-paced environment
- Tertiary qualifications in science or engineering, a Postgraduate science or engineering qualification preferred
- Business qualification preferred
