APPROVED PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

At Hudson Australia, we are seeking an experienced APPS 6 Procurement Officer to join our team in a non-ongoing, temporary or permanent transfer role.
We are looking for a motivated and skilled individual with government procurement experience and based in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide.
The successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Procurement Compliance Management: Support the implementation and management of Quality Assurance and governance activities through the development and maintenance of comprehensive procurement compliance reporting frameworks and associated processes.
- Audit and Assessment: Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to procurement policies and legislation.
- Expert Advice: Provide sound expert advice on procurement compliance, reporting, and governance to ensure quality and compliance with associated legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring a commitment to value for money and timely delivery.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of improved procurement controls and processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Compliance Framework: Manage the development and implementation of the Compliance Management Framework.
In this role, you will be required to have:
- Compliance Experience: Demonstrated experience in compliance, governance, and reporting, essential to ensuring compliance and reporting of organisational adherence to established standards and methodologies.
- Governance Management: Experience in governance management, change control, and quality management within a complex environment is essential.
- Independent Working: The ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage workload to ensure quality and timely advice, efficient and effective decisions based on professional judgment and evaluating risks in the context of a busy and changing environment.
- Procurement Knowledge: Sound knowledge in the application of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and connected policies, including a working knowledge of the Commonwealth Contracting Suite (CCS), the use of procurement panels, sound application of the Value for Money (VFM) principles, and demonstrated experience advising and assisting with P2P data entry with internal customers for new procurements and contract variations.
- Communication Skills: Well-developed writing and storytelling skills, important for supporting the development of clear, concise, and influential briefing materials, advice, and responses to questions on notice, tailored to the needs of various audiences including Austrade Senior Executive and Senate Estimates hearings.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Well-developed stakeholder and communication skills with experience implementing stakeholder engagement plans and maintaining effective communication channels across diverse groups to ensure procurement alignment and consistency.
Estimated salary: AU$85,000 - AU$110,000 per annum depending on experience.
