Leadership Opportunities in Aged Care

This is a remunerated position for skilled professionals to contribute to the strategic direction, governance, and sustainability of an organization during a critical time of growth and reform in the aged care sector.

We are seeking three new board members to join our board for a term of three years (with eligibility to be re-appointed). The positions require attendance at, and contribution to, board meetings and appointment to a sub-committee as determined by the board chair.

The board holds eight meetings annually (four face-to-face and four virtual), and it is an expectation that the successful applicants would attend a minimum of 75% of these and a one-day strategy session annually.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend and actively participate in board and committee meetings
  • Contribute to strategic planning and organisational oversight
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations
  • Champion quality care and client-centred services
  • Support good governance and ethical leadership

Successful Applicants Will Be Expected To Have:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
  • An Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) qualification (or equivalent) and/or experience working within a governing body
  • Knowledge of the Australian Aged Care system, including reforms and funding models
  • Commitment to improving the lives of older Australians and those living with a disability, and a values-based, human-centric approach
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Satisfactory National Police Check
  • Working with Vulnerable People Card (NDIS Screening)
  • NDIS Workers Orientation Certificate
  • Director Identification Number
