Many older and vulnerable people in Australia require companionship and social interaction. By becoming a visiting volunteer, you can make a positive impact on their lives by providing friendship and support.
The OpportunityWe are seeking volunteers to provide regular social visits to older people in aged care facilities or their own homes. As a visiting volunteer, you will develop meaningful relationships with the people you visit, share conversations, and participate in activities that bring joy and fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities:- Visit older adults regularly to offer companionship and emotional support
- Engage in conversation and activities that promote mental and physical well-being
- Help build confidence and self-esteem through positive interactions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy and understanding for the needs of older adults
- Flexibility and availability to commit to regular visits
As a visiting volunteer, you will be an integral part of improving the lives of older people experiencing loneliness. You will have the opportunity to form lasting connections, learn from their life experiences, and gain personal satisfaction from giving back to your community.
