Job Title: Seafood Merchandising Specialist

The role of the Seafood Merchandising Specialist is crucial in enhancing seafood capability within grocery store deli teams.

This involves providing training, coaching and in-store support to improve customer engagement and drive sales performance through enhanced product knowledge and merchandising execution.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering hands-on training to store managers, deli managers and deli teams on seafood species, merchandise standards, product handling, food safety and customer service excellence;
  • Monitoring and supporting adherence to standards, ensuring consistent execution of merchandising, pricing and promotional activities;
  • Analysing sales data to identify performance opportunities and implementing targeted initiatives to drive commercial outcomes;
  • Fostering strong relationships with store managers and deli teams to influence positive results and encourage collaboration;
  • Utilising CRM and reporting tools to document store visits, track training outcomes and highlight sales opportunities;

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A strong retail or deli operations background, ideally within seafood or fresh categories;
  • Effective trainer and coach with excellent communication and relationship building skills;
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to analyse sales trends and identify growth opportunities;
  • Professional, resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM experience preferred.
