Job Title: Senior Legal Franchise Expert

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Franchise Expert to join our successful Franchising team at LegalVision. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality legal advice to franchisors in Australia and New Zealand, assisting them with establishing and managing their franchise networks.

About the Role:

As a Senior Legal Franchise Expert, you will work closely with our clients to understand their business needs and objectives, providing tailored legal solutions to drive their success. You will also be responsible for managing a small team of talented lawyers, ensuring they are kept busy and engaged.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice to franchisors on franchise law, ACL, and Franchising Code of Conduct;
  • Assist clients with establishing franchise systems, drafting and negotiating franchise grants, renewals, and surrenders;
  • Manage a small team of lawyers, ensuring they are kept busy and engaged;
  • Contribute to the development of our Franchising team, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement;
  • Collaborate with other teams at LegalVision to deliver commercial legal services to our clients.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience as a lawyer in a reputable law firm or busy in-house team;
  • Demonstrated experience in franchising law, advising franchisors on their obligations under the ACL and Franchising Code of Conduct;
  • Broad commercial and consumer law experience;
  • Excellent technical ability, project management, and client service skills;
  • Strong coaching and developing skills, with a genuine interest in people management;
  • Commercial acumen and ability to think on your feet;
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills;
  • Ability to step up and take on responsibility for day-to-day transactions;
  • Strong drafting skills, including franchising, commercial, and business law documents.
