
Professional Payroll Specialist

PHE is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team, supporting the delivery of accurate and compliant payroll. This full-time role reports to the Payroll Lead and can be based in either our Fortitude Valley or Gympie office. You'll play a hands-on role in processing weekly payroll, maintaining employee records, interpreting EBAs and Awards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll using Employment Hero.
- Maintain accurate employee data, including contracts, timesheets, leave, and entitlements.
- Interpret awards and EBAs to ensure correct pay outcomes.
- Manage superannuation, PAYG, STP lodgments, and EOFY payroll reconciliations.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including TFNs, super setup, and termination pay.
- Respond to payroll queries and support site-based and office teams.
- Reconcile payroll reports and assist with audits and compliance.
- Provide support to other payroll team members and upskill where needed.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in payroll, ideally in a multi-site or blue-collar environment.
- Employment Hero Payroll (or KeyPay) experience is essential.
- MYOB Exo and Timesheet Advantage experience is also essential.
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and award interpretation.
- High attention to detail and confidence working with confidential information.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder support skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
