About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to support AGL's response to sustainability reporting requirements, provide high-quality technical accounting advice, and maintain our enterprise-wide accounting policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the assessment, planning, and implementation of controls and processes to ensure AGL's compliance with existing and emerging ESG reporting requirements.
- Provide expert advice on complex accounting transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, disposals, derivatives, and legal entity accounting.
- Develop and maintain AGL's portfolio of enterprise-wide accounting policies, ensuring they remain fit for purpose as the business evolves.
- Collaborate with the finance team to deliver high-quality financial reporting and support business growth.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of seniority and across business lines.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the audit process and ensure all financial reporting meets required standards.
Requirements:
- Extensive technical accounting experience and a high level of understanding of consolidation accounting.
- Experience in complex accounting matters such as M&A transaction advisory, group consolidations, derivatives, and legal entity accounting.
- Qualified accountant (CA/CPA) with consulting experience (Big 4 desirable).
- Experience with large ERP systems (SAP desirable).
- Advanced stakeholder management skills and the ability to keep stakeholders engaged and informed.
