About the Role

Aurecon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Engineer to join our team of experts in the field of transmission and distribution. As a Senior Substation Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the decarbonisation revolution, particularly in the decarbonisation of the Western Australian resource and utility energy systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Substation Design and Planning
  • Advise clients on substation design, network planning, and connection of renewable power generation projects
  • Provide planning advice to clients on their power generation assets operation and development
Energy Infrastructure Expertise
  • Join a team of specialists in grid-scale renewable power generation and energy storage
  • Contribute to the deployment of innovative projects in the energy storage and inverters-based generation markets
Client-Focused Approach
  • Develop a reputation for quality and timely advice
  • Be responsive to client needs and provide solutions to complex challenges
Leadership and Innovation
  • Lead the industry with innovative projects and solutions
  • Apply skills and creativity to projects in other geographies and markets
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree qualification in a relevant field
  • Post-graduation experience in a transmission and distribution role, as a consultant or as a developer/owner/contractor
  • Experience in primary and/or secondary design of substations assets at 132 kV level and above
  • Knowledge of NWIS power systems and/or SWIS power systems
  • Previous consultancy experience, including direct engagement with clients
  • Site and practical experience
