This is an exciting opportunity to work for Coles, a leading Australian retailer with a strong presence in the market. As a State Manager, you will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving business growth.
About the Role
As a State Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals to deliver business results and develop great teams. You will implement and execute business strategies within the region, maximizing sales and increasing store efficiencies while decreasing costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage regional budgets to ensure financial stability and growth.
- Manage key relationships between Operations and stakeholders, including Merchandise, Safety, HR, Loss Prevention, Store Development, and external suppliers.
- Be accountable for personal and team compliance with internal company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable external laws and regulations.
- Be a business advocate for customers, making decisions based on their needs and in line with operational standards.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and training to store teams to increase their capability to deliver operational standards and make customers happy.
- Maximize business growth and results through your teams.
- Analyze and identify performance gaps in operational standards and implement solutions to achieve required business metrics.
- Achieve operating standards through Area/Store Managers and their teams.
About You and Your Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven multi-site leadership experience in a FMCG or retail business.
- Extensive experience working with retail-based industries.
- Experience in implementing and executing business strategy consistently to high standards.
- Adaptability with a strong ability to embrace change.
- A high-level customer-focused attitude, with the ability to drive team results.
