Community Engagement Officer Job Description

Headspaces Kalgoorlie is seeking a dynamic Community Engagement Officer to lead youth engagement and mental health awareness activities across the region. This role involves promoting community connections with young people, families, schools, local services, and the wider community.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement community awareness campaigns promoting positive mental health messages.
  • Lead events and programs engaging young people in their communities, fostering participation, inclusion, and social connections.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and healthcare providers.
  • Utilize digital platforms to promote services, share stories of impact, and raise awareness about headspace initiatives.
  • Support families and friends of young people accessing our services, ensuring they have the information and resources needed to provide guidance and support.
Key Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications in health promotion, youth work, community development, or related fields.
  • Experience in event planning, program coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledge of the mental health sector, youth-related issues, and cultural competency in working with diverse communities.
  • Excellent communication, partnership-building, and digital skills, including proficiency in social media and online tools.
  • A valid driver's license, Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance, and First Aid Certificate.
