Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Family Dynamics Specialist to work directly with individuals who perpetrate family and domestic violence. The successful candidate will engage men in Men's Behaviour Change (MBC) programs, using innovative and culturally appropriate strategies to encourage participation, build motivation for change, and promote accountability.

This role involves outreach-based activities, including phone, online, and face-to-face engagement with men who use violence. The specialist will provide individual support and referral pathways to services addressing contributing issues such as mental health and substance use, while prioritizing the safety of women and children affected by abuse.

Responsibilities:
  • Initiate engagement with men who use violence through outreach activities
  • Provide individual support and referral pathways to services addressing contributing issues
  • Co-facilitate Men's Behaviour Change and Protective Behaviours groups
  • Engage with young people through group programs held at local youth facilities
  • Participate in community activities designed to build trust and connection
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or other related disciplines
  • Ability to work Mondays in the Kalgoorlie branch and Tuesdays to Friday in the Northern Goldfields (Leonora and Laverton)
  • Previous experience in family domestic violence service and/or willingness to be trained in Men's Behaviour Change services
  • Experience working closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, understanding of culture
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver and evaluate personal and relationship education programs relevant to children
