Classroom Support Assistant

We are seeking to hire highly motivated individuals who can provide classroom and learning support assistance, working collaboratively with teachers to deliver a high-quality educational experience for our students.

This role is ideal for those who are passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives and are looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in facilitating lessons and activities, including preparation;
  • Work with students individually or in small groups on activities planned under the supervision of a teacher;
  • Assist students to comply with teacher instruction;
  • Prepare equipment and materials specific to the student and classroom needs in accordance with teacher's direction;
  • Observe students and draw attention of the teacher to the students when necessary;
  • Provide assistance during class activities, as required, to ensure maximum participation in programs; and
  • Develop an effective, positive relationship with all students in the class.

In addition to these key responsibilities, successful applicants will also be expected to:

  • Implement modifications to student work as set/directed by a teacher; and
  • Implement support programs (literacy and numeracy) under the direction of the teacher.

  • A MiniLit certificate would be an advantage;
  • Integrity and trust; and
  • Teamwork and reliability.

You must also be able to demonstrate a Christian commitment consistent with our College's Ethos, have or be willing to obtain a 'Working with Children Blue Card' prior to commencement, and have current first aid certification with CPR or be willing to obtain.
