About the Role

This Executive Culinary Director position is responsible for leading the provision of well-presented, nutritious meals that meet resident dining needs in a home-like environment. You will ensure excellence at all times, while adhering to related quality standards and regulations.

Duties

  1. Ensure the efficient and high-quality functioning of the kitchen and catering service
  2. Review all feedback from residents and act accordingly to resolve any issues
  3. Manage safe and correct processes in food purchasing, storage, handling, and preparation
  4. Oversee the washing, preparation, and cooking of all foods, including vegetables, soups, sauces gravies, main dishes, desserts, sandwiches, salads, bread, and rolls
  5. Implement infection control principles and practices as per infection control policies
  6. Complete charts/forms promptly and correctly as per duty list and Quality & Assurance Processes
  7. Identify training needs and requirements of Catering Staff
  8. Work as an effective team leader by maintaining a positive attitude, respect, and communication with all members of the Catering team

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience. Additionally, you can expect a range of benefits, including professional development opportunities, flexible working arrangements, and a supportive work environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Budget management skills
  • Understanding of food audits
  • Hotel/restaurant experience desirable but not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
