
Support Companion for Spinal Cord Injury Participant

This role involves providing support to an 18-year-old female participant based in Casino, NSW who has sustained a spinal cord injury. The participant requires assistance with daily living tasks, personal care, and health-related activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with bowel therapy, domestic tasks, health and rehabilitation exercises, community access, hoisting, and prompting medication. A reliable and proactive attitude is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively with the participant and other stakeholders.
- Assistance with bowel therapy (administering enema and digital stimulation)
- Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning & meal preparation
- Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
- Community access + rehab appointments
- Hoisting (full hoist/sling hoist)
- Assistance with personal care
- Completing skin checks
- Prompting Medication
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Reliable, proactive and positive attitude
- NDIS Effective Communication Module
- Current National Police Clearance
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Current NDIS Worker Screen check
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Australian Driver Licence
- Current WWCC
This role offers a competitive hourly rate, with pay rates varying depending on the time of day and day of the week. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work with a dedicated team and make a positive impact on the life of the participant.
Pay Rates:
- Day - $40.00 per hour
- Afternoon - $44.00 per hour
- Saturday - $56.00 per hour
- Sunday - $72.00 per hour
- In-active overnight shift allowance - $145.49 fixed rate
