Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safety and security of inmates during daily routines, including meals, headcounts and movements
  • Identify and report any potential safety or security risks
  • Conduct regular searches of cells and common areas to maintain a secure environment
  • Supervise activities such as work programs and visits
  • Apply fair and consistent treatment to individuals while enforcing rules and regulations

Requirements of the Role:
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Current driver's licence
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or permanent residency
  • Willingness to complete the Certificate III in Correctional Practice
  • Meet the medical standards required for this role and maintain a reasonable level of fitness
  • Body art or modifications that are visible on the face, scalp, ears, neck or hands, as well as tattoos or modifications of an offensive nature, are prohibited
