General Practitioner with Obstetrics Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Practitioner with Obstetrics expertise to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth of our healthcare services.

Job Description

This position involves working as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at Lithgow Hospital, providing medical services to patients under the scope of practice for a General Practitioner with Obstetrics. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessment, investigation, and appropriate care of patients, as well as participating in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.

The position requires a strong clinical knowledge of General Practice, including sound judgment and decision-making skills. A high level of interpersonal and communication skills is also essential for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate will have a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP) or equivalent, as well as experience in teaching and supervision of junior medical staff. The ability to demonstrate contemporary best practice supervision standards is highly valued.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Possess full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practice (FRACGP) or equivalent
  • Evidence of Continuing Medical Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
  • Sound clinical knowledge of General Practice demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position
