Research Development and Grants Manager

Job Description:

This is a challenging opportunity to lead the development of competitive research grant funding, working closely with researchers across all campuses. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing a successful category 1 funding strategy by partnering with Associate Deans Research and Industry Engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement targeted strategies to improve quality of external research proposals and success rates.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to La Trobe's research community on category 1 schemes.
  • Be the university contact for funding agencies, especially the Australian Research Council.
Requirements:
  1. A relevant postgraduate degree, extensive professional experience or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience in research administration.
  2. Demonstrated track record in working with researchers to develop successful category 1 schemes, with experience in ARC schemes.
  3. Extensive knowledge of and experience with a range of Australian competitive grant schemes.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills.
