Overview

A Mechanical Fitter is required to provide technical expertise in the maintenance and repair of equipment. This involves ensuring that all machines and equipment are properly maintained, using precision techniques and adhering to quality control standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-precision overhauls of gearboxes, pumps, pulleys, valves, screens and OEM components.
  • Operate and maintain workshop equipment within skill level.
  • Review drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
  • Maintain inventory of completed products.
  • Provide feedback on opportunities for improvement, including tooling, processes and working environment.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of workspace.
  • Supervise, guide and assist apprentices and trades assistants.

Requirements

  • Hold a recognized Trade Certificate.
  • Be currently licensed to drive.
  • Hold relevant safety certifications (Work at Heights, Confined Space).
  • Have preferred but not essential skills in Dogging/Rigging and Forklift operation.
  • Be fit for manual labor and pass a drug and alcohol screening.
  • Demonstrate a genuine commitment to safety and reliability.
