Search Solutions Engineer Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support complex search challenges by providing empathetic approaches and actionable solutions.
  • Define and communicate a search technology strategy, working closely with Technical Leadership to shape our vision for search and insights extraction.
  • Identify, prioritize, and solve systemic technical challenges by proactively raising issues and collaborating with product leadership to explore solutions and determine priorities.
  • Design and implement advanced search systems, architecting scalable indexing pipelines, query understanding systems, and relevance tuning mechanisms that enable effortless data extraction for customers.
  • Advocate for and maintain engineering quality, ensuring high standards for search experiences delivered to customers.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience building search systems using technologies like Elasticsearch or vector databases. Hands-on exposure to designing and implementing search infrastructure is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling you to convey complex search architectures to product teams and articulate query performance vs. relevance tradeoffs.
  • Experience managing complex search infrastructure, including designing and delivering search features, optimizing indexing pipelines, and providing reasonable performance estimates.
  • Ability to teach others, mentoring junior team members to learn search best practices, information retrieval concepts, and improve decision-making around search architecture.
  • Pragmatic and flexible approach, comfortable with ambiguity in search requirements, resourceful to solve retrieval problems, and adaptable to shifting customer search needs.
  • Commitment to excellence, setting high standards for search quality and leading by example.
