Job Description

The Combat Systems Engineering Group plays a crucial role in delivering efficient solutions by:

  • Seeking engineering synergies based on common capabilities or equipment between platforms.
  • Developing organisational capabilities and capacity in key competencies.
  • Utilising common personnel for the conduct of systems engineering effort.

Several functional teams exist to support the development of 9LV based Combat System solutions. These teams comprise Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with operational experience that provides an experience-based input into the overall Combat System Engineering effort.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing naval engineering/maintenance input and advice on routine and corrective maintenance procedures, particularly for Combat Management Systems.
  • Supporting engineering staff in maintainability design of CMS functionality and associated Human-Machine Interface.
  • Supporting engineering staff in functional design and layout of Naval Ships' Command & Control spaces with a focus on Human Factors.
  • Undertaking Maintenance Task Analysis to support development of Maintenance Manuals.
  • Undertaking Training Needs Analysis to support CSM training.
  • Delivering CS Maintainer training.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Considerable experience as a Combat System Maintainer/Supervisor/Manager.
  • Proven writing skills with the ability to write in plain English.
  • Experience with writing and editing large and/or complex documents to an advanced level in Microsoft Word.
  • Considerable technical experience with the 9LV CMS.
  • Proven ability in internal and external stakeholder management.
Benefits

Defence security clearance is required for this role. Applicants must hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV2 level or have the ability to gain one.
