Job Description

The Hobart Class Combat System is a cutting-edge naval technology that provides the strategic advantage for Defence.

You will join the Naval Combat System (CS) Engineering Team as a Lead Systems Engineer (Combat System).

This role is responsible for assisting with the execution of engineering activities related to upgrades and updates on in-service naval platforms within the Navy's fleet.

As a key member of the team, you will provide technical guidance for the weapon system to the customer (RAN), collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain the technical framework, and conduct Engineering Change activities in accordance with the formal process.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Provide technical guidance for the weapon system to the customer (RAN)

  • Conduct Engineering Change activities in accordance with the formal process
  • Engage with stakeholders on planning and scheduling engineering changes
  • Draft Liaison Information Transfer Reports for foreign support coordination with Subject Matter Experts
  • Prepare Computer Program Test Observation Reports for Combat System baseline updates and operations

About You

Strong analytical skills, technical acumen, and a collaborative mindset are essential for this role.

Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements, design, testing, and integration, is highly desirable.

Additionally, experience working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve goals, understanding of modern systems engineering practices and tools, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to handle export-controlled technology and data are also necessary.
