The Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Team Lead to join our team. As a Shift Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing operational teams allocated to shifts to achieve productivity, safety, and customer performance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective communication of standards, expectations, and procedures to the operational team through pre-start safety discussions and meetings.
  • Select and direct the use of appropriate equipment in a safe and productive manner that contributes to safe practices, damage prevention, and productivity.
  • Direct and manage the performance of the operations team on the job to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
  • Liaise with Agents and Vessels' Chief Officer to coordinate tasks consistent with discharge and load plans.
  • Complete and process required documents, including damage, discharge, and load plans.
  • Communicate with vessel Chief Officers and client representatives to ensure performance objectives are achieved according to the vessel plan.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with employment terms, OH&S legislation, and company policy, taking corrective action when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Supervisory experience in stevedoring or a similar industry.
  • Experience in high-risk operating environments.
  • Understanding of operational capabilities of machinery and lifting gear.
  • Regulated workplace environment experience.
  • Appropriate licenses (e.g., forklift, rigger, crane).
  • Computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications.
