Electrical Estimator Job Overview

Job Description:

This structured, well-supported role involves taking ownership of your work and being the go-to expert in a growing business. As an experienced electrical estimator, you will be responsible for quoting high-end residential projects, marking up electrical plans manually based on builder specs and client selections, forecasting material needs, raising purchase orders, and coordinating procurement.

You will work directly with the Director and their consultant from a light-filled office in Burwood, supported by clear systems and an approachable team. With flexible hours and a WFH arrangement open to negotiation, this is a rare opportunity to join a company where your experience and initiative will be genuinely valued.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Quote high-end residential projects using SimPRO, Ground Plan, and Excel
  2. Mark up electrical plans manually based on builder specs and client selections
  3. Forecast material needs, raise purchase orders, and coordinate procurement
  4. Track scope, monitor variations, and ensure accurate margin control
  5. Maintain pricing databases and templates for ongoing accuracy
  6. Report directly to the Director and act as the key in-house estimating expert
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  1. 2+ years' experience in electrical estimating (any sector – residential, commercial or industrial)
  2. Proficiency with SimPRO (non-negotiable), Ground Plan, and Excel
  3. Excellent attention to detail and ability to read and interpret electrical plans
  4. Calm, organised, and able to work independently without micromanagement
  5. Bonus if you have qualifications in electrical, estimating, or project management
  6. Must have Australian industry experience
