Product Development Specialist
OverviewThis role is essential in driving the conception and development of all products within your allocated category.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a close link with manufacturers to ensure seamless handovers of developments, taking direct accountability for ensuring all sample technical packs submitted are accurate, completed and submitted in line with set timeframes.
You will communicate regularly with the Design Team to ensure any critical design issues or developments are highlighted and resolved when required.
Responsibilities
- Understand and drive company wide strategies and OKRs.
- Maintain a close link with manufacturers to ensure seamless handover of developments, taking direct accountability for making sure all sample technical packs submitted are accurate, completed and submitted in line with set timeframes.
- Communicate regularly with the Design Team to ensure any critical design issues or developments are highlighted and resolved when required.
- Select, develop, and source fabrications, colours, trims etc. in line with company standards.
- Attend fit sessions and use technical ability to ensure best fit is achieved and approve final samples with GT when required.
- Approve all details of final product in line with original design brief.
- Understand the manufacturing structure of the supplier's business in order to recognise cost & manufacturing opportunities for every design submitted.
- Participate in range planning meetings to ensure the range is balanced in styling, colour and fabrications.
- Ensure range boards are up to date and planned accordingly.
What It Takes
- Minimum 4 years experience in product development or design.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong trend forecasting skills with a commercial eye for fashion.
- Ability to time manage workload in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Proficient in illustrator and photoshop would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
