About Us
A not-for-profit organisation is seeking an experienced risk and legal counsel to join their team.
The role involves providing expert advice, guidance and support to the board of directors and senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining effective risk management frameworks and strategies.
- Conducting thorough risk assessments and providing regular reports to stakeholders.
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts and agreements.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Providing ongoing support with governance and contract management.
- Building a risk-aware culture through training and communication.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Law.
- Experience in providing in-house legal counsel preferably in a not-for-profit organisation.
- Strong expertise in contract law and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven organisational skills.
- Deep understanding of Australian governance, legal and compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with the regulatory landscape.
Requirements
A federal police check is required for this role.
