Job Opportunity

Opal is a leading packaging and paper company in Australasia, manufacturing products used daily by consumers.

  • As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for repairing, installing, and maintaining machinery and equipment across our site.
  • Working on the afternoon shift, you will have shift times of Monday to Thursday from 3pm to 1am.

The maintenance fitters work on:

  1. Breakdowns: running repairs and troubleshooting of issues as they occur throughout the day.
  2. Shutdowns: planned shutdowns of machines and equipment for servicing.

This includes:

  • Timely action and satisfactory completion of machine breakdowns.
  • Playing a key role within a team focused on developing and executing efficient preventative maintenance practices on the site.
  • Providing technical support to the Maintenance and Production teams.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualified fitter or equivalent.
  • Experience in high-speed production lines and environments is advantageous.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work unsupervised in a team environment.
  • Team Player, trustworthy, and great work ethic.
