Flight Reliability Engineer

The Starship and Super Heavy vehicles require meticulous attention to ensure their success. As a Flight Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in identifying, documenting, and managing risk for these vehicles.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of risk tracking for a Starship Vehicle or component and managing risk throughout testing and flight
  • Supporting technical reviews, including vehicle state machine reviews, joint operations reviews, and CONOPs reviews
  • Organizing and running flight readiness reviews to ensure technical readiness and flight data reviews to track action items and learnings from flight
  • Clearly communicating technical risks to executive leadership
  • Providing real-time support for test and flight as the authority for vehicle risk, driving on-console resolution of technical risks to achieve successful test or flight outcome
  • Supporting anomaly investigations via use of tools such as fault trees, fishbones, and 5 whys
  • Influencing the implementation of process and tools to balance risk, change, and mission workflow for the Starship program

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience with engineering problem solving in design, analysis, or test of systems
