We are seeking a highly skilled Flight Reliability Engineer to join our team.

Job Overview

The Starship Flight Reliability Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our spacecraft. This individual will be responsible for identifying, documenting, and managing risk associated with the Starship and Super Heavy vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Taking ownership of risk tracking for a Starship Vehicle or component and managing risk of that item throughout testing and flight.
  • Supporting technical reviews including vehicle state machine reviews, joint operations reviews, and CONOPs reviews as required to understand and provide feedback to operations.
  • Organizing and running flight readiness reviews to ensure technical readiness and flight data reviews to track action items and learnings from flight.
  • Clearly communicating technical risks to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Providing real-time support for test and flight as the authority for vehicle risk, communicating to leadership and stakeholders as required.
  • Supporting anomaly investigations as needed via use of tools such as fault trees, fishbones, and 5 whys.
  • Influencing and driving the implementation of process and tools to an appropriate balance for the program, including risk, change, and mission workflow.

Requirements:
