Overview

The Department of Parliamentary Services is seeking a skilled and dedicated Sessional Reporter to join their team. This exciting opportunity will involve providing high-quality reporting services, working closely with the Hansard team to produce accurate transcripts of parliamentary debates and committee hearings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and timely reporting services for parliamentary debates and committee hearings;
  • Work collaboratively with the Hansard team to ensure seamless production of transcripts and other materials;
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of current affairs in Victoria, particularly in relation to government and politics;
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting services.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A degree in Journalism or Communications, or equivalent experience;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure;
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
