The Role
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Capability Officer, the General Manager is responsible for ensuring the right people, skills, and systems are in place to deliver the mission.
This demands transformational leadership to:
  • ">
  • Anticipate and meet program workforce demand while building long-term capability pipelines.
  • Design and lead capability plans across engineering, operations, program management, and supply chain.
  • Deliver ongoing training to ensure the workforce grows and maintains the capability, skills, and experience to support both the Collins Submarine Program and Nuclear-Powered Submarine Programs.
  • Partner with government, education, and industry to grow Australia's sovereign submarine talent base.
  • Drive cultural change and embed innovative workforce systems that directly impact business outcomes.

Your Qualifications
You are an experienced senior leader (10+ years) who has worked within complex, high-risk industries. You bring:

  • Proven success in designing and implementing capability programs aligned to strategic goals.
  • A strong understanding of workforce trends, regulations, and training standards.
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide change programs.
  • A track record of inspiring high-performing teams and engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management, influencing stakeholders at senior levels (internally and externally).

Location and Impact
