About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join our Australian Infrastructure Investment team at Brookfield Asset Management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing research and leading sections of financial analysis, modelling and presentations to support the development of investment strategies and identify attractive transaction opportunities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating investment ideas consistent with Brookfield's investment strategy
  • Identifying and assessing potential risks and devising appropriate risk mitigation strategies
  • Assisting with the preparation of high-quality investment committee presentation materials and other supporting documents
  • Building financial models that include operational, financing, tax, valuation and other relevant aspects
  • Working with Brookfield's operational teams and advisors to progress due diligence and asset management-related analysis

The Associate will also be involved with select, allocated portfolio companies, including monitoring performance, assisting with strategic initiatives, and participating in special projects as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in a private equity / infrastructure fund or an investment bank
  • A strong interest in infrastructure and real assets
  • The ability to generate investment ideas that align to fund mandates (core and core-plus)
  • Sound commercial judgement and the ability to clearly articulate a situation and make well-reasoned recommendations
  • A professional, positive attitude and the ability to contribute to a dynamic and team-oriented culture
  • A proactive, self-starter who is capable of working independently or as part of a larger team
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving ability, with the ability to think laterally for the benefit of the division and company as a whole
  • Experience in conducting research and due diligence
