">Nursing and midwifery in the Northern Territory presents a unique chance for experienced endo rned enrolled nurses to grow professionally. With a minimum 12 months experience post completion of qualification, you will have the opportunity to work across multiple clinical areas, applying adaptable models of care and flexible workplace arrangements.
The role of an endo rned enrolled nurse is to deliver high-quality patient care within the scope and practice of their profession under the direct/indirect supervision of a registered nurse (RN). They will utilise best practice clinical standards as a framework to provide optimal clinical care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working within the scope and practice of an endorsed enrolled nurse under the direct/indirect supervision of the RN
- Utilising best practice clinical standards to provide optimal clinical care to patients
- Obtaining support and advice regarding performance expectations, management of clients and application of policies and procedure from the RN as required
- Acting as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team
- Delivering care and administering medication within the role boundaries and legal limitations of enrolled nurse practice
- Following defined service quality standards, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
- Fostering a positive workplace culture through role modelling appropriate behaviour
- Ability to work shift work and be redeployed to other clinical areas to meet clinical needs
Selection Criteria:
- Current registration as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
- Completion of an approved NMBA course in administration and monitoring of medicines and intravenous therapy
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to co-ordinate client care resulting in positive clinical outcomes
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to contribute effectively within the multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated understanding of the impact of social and cultural challenges experienced by vulnerable groups/communities and the role of the nurse in supporting them
- Knowledge and application of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) principles in a health care setting
