About the Job

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Youth Worker. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the Circles of Support - Youth (COSY) Program in the Nambour area, assisting vulnerable young people aged 8-21 years to access support services and make positive life choices.

The role involves working Tuesdays and Thursdays (8:30 am - 4:30 pm), taking a strengths-based approach to case management, helping participants identify achievable goals and activities to support their pathways. This may include addressing barriers, linking participants with specialist support services, and facilitating group activities outside of business hours.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have an understanding of issues faced by young people 'at risk' and solid knowledge of community issues impacting young people. You will also require case management experience, including reporting complex information and advocating on behalf of participants.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in Community Services, Youth Work, or a similar sector
  • Strong communication skills, connecting with young people and others in the community
  • Sense of resilience and empathy to work with participants experiencing complex barriers
  • Strong IT and administration skills, including recording case notes and using MS Office Outlook, Excel, and Word

Requirements
