Job Title: Youth Development Coordinator

The role of a Relief Youth Worker is to support teachers and students in the planning, delivery and enhancement of academic learning, wellbeing and vocational programs.

This position plays a vital role in the support, case management and mentorship of disengaged students, fostering intentional relationships to identify and address their strengths, passions, interests and unmet needs.

About the Role

As a Relief Youth Worker this role involves actively supporting teachers and students in the classroom. The successful candidate will coordinate the delivery of the school's pastoral care and community development program so that student wellbeing needs, and attendance targets are met.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the delivery of wellbeing programs for students
  • Support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students
  • Form intentional relationships with young people to support their strengths, passions, interests and unmet needs
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment

Requirements:
  • Hold a Certificate IV or above in Youth Work, Community Services or other relevant qualification
  • Hold a Positive Notice Blue Card, or be willing to obtain one
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with young people including the ability to communicate appropriately with young people and their families from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Commitment to working with young people using the Strengths Approach and ability to demonstrate non-judgmental, empathic framework
