Linux Kernel Expert Wanted

We are seeking a skilled Linux kernel engineer to join our team. As a leading provider of open source software and operating systems, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality solutions to the global enterprise and technology markets.

Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in various breakthrough initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, engineering innovation, and IoT. We collaborate with 1200+ colleagues in 75+ countries, mostly remotely, and meet two to four times yearly in person to align on strategy and execution.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Engage with key Silicon and Cloud partners to provide optimal solutions for their platforms.
  • Mitigate common vulnerabilities and exposures for Ubuntu Linux, while driving active hardening in the kernel.
  • Architect enhancements to performance and correctness to make Ubuntu Linux the most reliable and highest performing Linux kernel available today.
  • Prioritize and streamline the packaging and distribution of particularly troublesome third-party components for an optimal user experience.
  • Develop new means to deliver Ubuntu Linux at scale, adhering to strict quality standards and delivery schedules.

This role involves leading engineers within the team and coordinating adoption and delivery with external teams. Strong people skills and leadership abilities are essential.
