Job Description

The role of Cytogenetic Specialist involves the analysis of clinical cases using cytogenetic and genomic assays. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative team to generate high-quality data, interpret results, and produce accurate reports.

This position requires strong technical skills, including proficiency in cytogenetic technologies and diagnostic tests. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an IANZ/NATA accredited laboratory and be eligible for Graduate Membership of the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists.

The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of world-leading genetics and genomics services, working closely with a team of experts to achieve this goal.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science and/or Honours degree
  • Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists
  • A minimum of 36 months of employment in an IANZ/NATA accredited oncology cytogenetics laboratory
  • Demonstrable high level of technical competency in paediatric oncology cytogenetic technologies
  • Demonstrable experience and competence in the performance and understanding of a wide range of diagnostic tests or procedures
