The Child Development Specialist will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care across various parenting programs at our Early Parenting Centre. The role requires a strong focus on family-centered care, with an emphasis on promoting prevention, early intervention, and help-seeking opportunities for parents and children.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain an understanding of parenting challenges and promote prevention, early intervention, and help-seeking opportunities for families.
- Apply knowledge to practice independently and evaluate situations to provide effective support to patients and their families.
- Recognize and promote factors that contribute to connection to culture and community diversity, and promote self-determination in decision-making for patients and families.
- Maintain a strong and collaborative working relationship with the Senior Early Parenting Practitioner and actively support Early Parenting initiatives and activities.
- Diploma or above level qualification in Early Childhood Development, Family Therapy, Social Work, Community Education, or Child and Maternal Health.
- Ability to develop trust and rapport with patients and families, and demonstrate an ability to strengthen client capacity to reach their goals.
- Ability to work a rotating roster consisting of days and nights throughout the EPCD.
