Job Opportunity

We are seeking experienced lawyers to join our team as PO6 Senior Crown Prosecutors.

About the Role

This is a temporary full-time opportunity for 12 months with a possibility of extension. As a Senior Crown Prosecutor, you will have the opportunity to engage with complex and sensitive legal matters while making a genuine difference in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead high-stakes prosecutions, representing the Crown as leading counsel in complex superior court trials.
  • Provide expert advice to senior management on criminal law and evidence.
  • Exercise discretion, making independent decisions on initiating, modifying, or discontinuing serious criminal charges.
  • Advocate for victims' rights, ensuring their needs are addressed throughout the legal process.
  • Build strong relationships with judges, legal counsel, police, court officials, and victims.
  • Develop talent by mentoring junior prosecutors, legal officers, and support staff.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Admission as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia.
