About the Role
This role involves delivering high-level cultural advice and support to Indigenous peoples accessing mental health services.
Key objectives include:
- Delivering culturally sensitive care to improve mental health outcomes for Indigenous peoples.
- Providing effective cultural support to multidisciplinary teams.
Mandatory requirements:
- Indigenous status to an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community.
- Vaccination against certain vaccine-preventable diseases.
- Relevant qualifications in Indigenous primary health care, mental health, or alcohol and other drugs.
About You
You will need high-level interpersonal, communication, consultation, and negotiation skills.
Cultural understanding and lived experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures are essential.
You should be able to develop partnerships within a health service and with external stakeholders.
