General Physician Opportunity

This is a rewarding opportunity for a General Physician to join our team and contribute to the provision of high-quality medical care to patients.

They will be able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide comprehensive medical care to patients with multiple active co-morbidities or undifferentiated illness that require ongoing hospital care.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing high-quality medical care to patients with multiple active co-morbidities or undifferentiated illness that require ongoing hospital care.
  2. Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  3. Developing and implementing initiatives to improve the quality of care provided to patients.
  4. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development.
  5. Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to the development of policies and procedures.

Selection criteria for this role include:

  1. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Advanced training in general medicine.
  3. Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
  4. Meets the credentialing and scope of practice requirements as defined by the Department of Health's Credentialing and Defining the Scope of Clinical Practice for Medical Practitioners in Victorian Health Services.
  5. Effective communication skills both written and oral.
  6. Ability and willingness to participate in the public patient on-call roster.
  7. Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of health and safety issues and of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) legislation as it relates to employee and employer responsibilities.
  8. Ability to develop and implement initiatives of continuous quality improvement within the designated area of work with a demonstrated customer-focused approach to service delivery.
  9. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and willingness to participate in department/ward performance management review programs.
  10. Awareness and understanding of infection control principles as they relate to the position's designated area of work.
