  • This role requires applicants to meet specific eligibility criteria, including being an Australian citizen, 18 years of age or older, having a minimum educational level of a Year 10 Certificate, and holding a valid Australian driver's licence.
Key Requirements:
  • Be an Australian citizen
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have attained a minimum educational level of a Year 10 Certificate, or higher
  • Hold a valid Australian driver's licence (P Plates are accepted)

As a Recruit, you will undergo a rigorous selection process, attend the AFP College for 4-6 months, and learn practical skills such as defensive tactics and driver training.

What You'll Need to Do
  1. Submit your application and select one of three Recruit roles: Protective Service Officer, Police Officer - ACT Policing, or Police Officer - National Policing.
  2. Complete online testing, fitness assessment, integrity checks, assessment centre, security clearance, health assessment, and merit pool.
  3. Attend the AFP College for 4-6 months and learn practical skills.
  4. Commence your role as a sworn officer.
