The Data Domain Product Owner plays a crucial role in enabling the realization of the data vision and requirements for design and build within the Digital Insurer program. This position ensures that DET squads within the Digital Insurer program are set up for success by eliciting, documenting, and providing clear requirements to DET squads.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and act as a representative for business stakeholders with knowledge of their respective areas.
- Collaborate with supporting resources, such as Business Analytics and technical subject matter experts (SMEs), to ensure strong alignment between stakeholder requirements and program imperatives.
- Ensure that data quality and integrity are upheld by adhering to standards and frameworks for management and collection of data, including the appropriate use of reference data tools.
- Consider security and access control through development or revision of processes for updating and managing data.
- Prepare materials to ensure effective communication of data requirements and/or to explain future changes to the landscape.
- Build rapport with business SMEs to ensure cohesion between the program and BAU activities.
- Work with architects and DET teams to ensure that reference and master data roadmaps are consistently updated in line with changing business needs.
- Drive data decisions aligned to the North Star principles, which require radical simplification.
- Understand Suncorp's future state data architecture and tooling and drive data transformation, simplification (tooling and Environments), and value for the business.
- Act as a representative for business in terms of future data landscape.
- Drive the right outcomes and trade-offs between simplification and business regulatory and business value requirements.
- Understand the impacts of pathway, prioritization, and trade-offs across a complex landscape of business and technology data needs.
- Ensure critical focus on regulatory business requirements, related to data and reporting, are met through the design and decision-making processes of the program.
- Support Data Stewards and Governance roles in ensuring that data maturity standards are upheld.
- Act as a key conduit between the business and Data and Enterprise Technology, fostering a strong sense of collaboration.
- Model team behaviors to deliver results and support others.
- Contribute to a team that prospers from diversity of ideas and approach and celebrate inclusivity.
- Contribute to an environment where safety and wellbeing is prioritized and actioned, and people are motivated towards meaningful work and common goals.
We are looking for an individual with some experience collaborating with data and analytics teams, knowledge of Consumer, Commercial, or Personal Injury Insurance, and experience organizing and facilitating engagement sessions with stakeholders.
Additionally, we require someone with experience working under momentum models or agile ways of working, significant experience contributing to or preparing business requirements documents, and experience working amongst technical teams to communicate requirements and support squads through delivery.
We also value experience developing presentation materials to simplify the message of a technical concept, some experience working on data transformation programs, knowledge of ETL technologies and integration from data warehouses to 3rd party Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technologies, and commercial acumen in the use of customer data within marketing.

- Advanced skills in technical document writing to capture business requirements, for example, Business Requirements Documents or equivalent.
- General understanding of project management methodologies, including the ability to use project and information management tools, such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Proficient in understanding data models and their application to business processes.
